Kingsport Firefighters Remove Two Children from House Fire

This morning, around 10:40 AM, Kingsport Fire Department (C-shift) was notified of a residential structure fire on Camelia Avenue. While firefighters were responding, KPD officers were on-scene trying to gain access to where bystanders said two children were trapped inside. Due to a road closure, the media reports that the firefighters had to run to the scene on foot. They went straight to work and entered the upstairs of the residence through a window to find and remove two small children from the fire. Once the children were removed, the fire was knocked down and under control a short time later. Two children and one adult were transported by EMS to a local hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.

From the news reports, it sounds like all the emergency responders on-scene coordinated their efforts in a somewhat of a hectic situation. I’m proud to call these brothers my co-workers, and hope that the patients make a full recovery. Atta boy KFD, KPD, EMS, and bystanders.
