Kingsport Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Mobile Home Fire in Rock Springs

rksprngsfire (5)On Saturday, May 24th, 2014, Kingsport Firefighters (B-shift) responded to a reported mobile home fire on Barnett Drive in the Rock Springs community. The first calls were received just before lunch, and they stated that smoke and flames were visible. Engine 7, which is located next to Barnett Drive, arrived to find smoke and flames visible with one end of a mobile home heavily involved.

Engine 7 is arriving on-scene with smoke and fire visible from a mobile home with one end of the structure heavily involved. Engine 7 will have Barnett Drive Command.

Engine 7 crew pulled an 1 3/4″ inch preconnect to attack the fire, and crews forced entry to access the interior of the structure. Chief 3 arrived on-scene and assumed command. Additional crews pulled a second line to assist in extinguishing the fire. Overhaul was completed to the exterior of the structure to extinguish smoldering embers. KFD Fire Marshall’s Office responded to the fire and the cause is under investigation.
