Since the launch of “The Model City Firefighter,” I have provided a variety of event for my department and the area on my website. While the majority of the posts about the Brotherhood, Station Pride, Firefighter Fitness, etc. are not department specific, many of the incidents and special events are. I have always posted this information knowing that if we do not release the information to the public, they will never be aware of all that we do. If I put all of the friendly jokes and comments about the website aside, I know that many members of my department appreciate the time and effort that I put in to releasing this information.
Recently, I was contacted by the administration about assisting with the launch of a new website. Since I already have a collection of photos on my hard drive, this was a fairly quick and easy process. It is my intention to be able to release more of the community information on the official KFD site, and pass it along to the readers here on The MCFF. I appreciate all of the support that I have received to date, and I don’t think that I will ever be able to pay each of you back for the kind words that I receive locally and during my travels across the country.
This week, the Kingsport Fire Department website went live. I have updated the majority of the pages and will be working with the administration to attempt to constantly update the site. The site features apparatus photos, station profiles, community events, press releases, and code/insurance information. I will be working to add a section in memory of our Line of Duty Deaths that the Department has had (4) during it’s nearly 100 years of business. These are just a few ideas that we have going right now, and be sure to stay tuned for what is to come.
