The “Model City” Firefighter Blog Turns 2!

happy_birthdayWhile I am not sure that I was aware when I made my first post on my blog, The “Model City” Firefighter… THERE’S an APP for that!

While browsing through my phone today, I realized that I had written my first post on August 14th, 2012! For the first few months, I shared my articles on my personal Facebook page. It was then around October 2012 that I launched the Facebook Fan Page for the site.

I also just realized that I share a birthday with CallTheCops.net!

Head over to their Facebook page here (link) and wish them a Happy Birthday as well!

I wanted to take a minute to thank each and every one of my brothers and sisters out there that follow along. The fire service has a great network of individuals across the country that work with each other to share ideas to help it reach the largest number of people. While I am just a tailboard firefighter from Tennessee, I have a great support system of mentors all across the country that have helped me out along the way. I am not any better than anyone else, and I mess up as much as the next guy. I just take the time to log a few posts, share some of the things we have going at the firehouse, and spark conversations up on various topics. I’m still amazed at how loyal all of my followers are and I will never be able to thank you enough!

I’d like to take a second to specifically thank First Arriving Network for giving me the chance to be a part of the gang. I would also like to thank Rhett Fleitz (The Fire Critic) and Cpt. Wines (Wooden Ladders and Iron Firemen) for all of their continued support. They’ve helped me through quite a bit, and have always helped me with any trouble shooting on the site that I’ve had. I couldn’t have done it without you! I’d also like to thank all of my friends and family for their continued support!

Now, I’m going to celebrate by working 12 hours on the Band-Aid bus! Woohoo!
