Engine 3 arrived on-scene reporting nothing visible from the outside and assumed Sullivan North Command. Engine 3 crew investigated, and passed Sullivan North Command to Chief 3. Engine 8 set-up at the FDC, as Ladder 1 gained access to the roof per request of Command. Firefighters made access to the gym and found moderate smoke conditions. The power had been turned off to that part of the school, and overhaul was completed around the area of the fire. Firefighters checked for extension on the roof, but no heat/fire conditions were found on the exterior.

Fire crews expelled the smoke from the gym, and remained on-scene until the smoke was clear. Afterwards, the students that had been evacuated were allowed to re-enter the structure.
