When you mention Nick Jessee amongst the firefighters in the Tri-Cities, many would talk about how he is as strong as an ox. Strong is exactly what Nick is, and he is now in the fight of his life. Nick served with the Kingsport Fire Department for nearly 6 years, the Bristol VA Fire Department for around 3 years, and was also a firefighter with the Goodson-Kinderhook Volunteer Fire Department in Washington County, VA. Recently, Nick has been working in the saw mill/lumber business throughout the area.
Last week, the day after his 37th birthday, Nick suffered a brain aneurysm and was rushed to Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He had surgery soon after the diagnosis, and has had to battle through several other issues since. Earlier this week, he suffered a stroke and is still in critical condition.
Most importantly, keep Nick, his family, and his friends in your prayers.
Additionally, there has been a GoFundMe account set-up in his name to assist with the medical expenses that are continuing to grow. As of time of posting, just over $2,500 has been raised.
