BREAKING: Suspect Arrested for Murder/Arson from Early Morning Fire in Kingsport

sevierfatal1While Detective’s from the Kingsport Police Department, Investigators from the Kingsport Fire Department, and members of the TN Bomb and Arson Unit were investigating an early morning fire that involved two people loosing their lives, they caught a break in the case.

According to a Kingsport Police Department Press Release:

Based on evidence recovered at the scene, the investigators immediately suspected arson. Several hours into the investigation, a suspect identified as Paul Henry Robinson was observed in the vicinity of the crime scene.

The investigators noticed that he had visible burn injuries and singed hair. After further investigation, investigators determined that Mr. Robinson had deliberately set the fire with the intent to kill the two deceased individuals.

The subject was taken into custody and is now being held at the Kingsport City Jail on the following charges:

  • Aggravated Arson
  • Especially Aggravated Arson
  • First Degree Murder (2 counts)
  • Felony Murder (2 counts)
