Warehouse Fire Keeps Firefighters Busy Overnight in Kingsport

warehouse1Around 23:15hrs on Wednesday night, Kingsport (TN) Firefighters were alerted of a possible structure fire at the former Lester’s Home Center warehouse on East Stone Drive in Kingsport. As firefighters were responding, Kingsport PD arrived on-scene and advised heavy fire was visible. Engine 8 arrived on-scene and reported a large commercial warehouse with heavy fire and smoke showing with part of the roof already collapsed.

Firefighters began a defensive attack of the fire with 2 1/2 inch hose lines, as the water supply was established. Two elevated master streams were set-up using Ladder 1 and Engine 1 on the front of the structure. Crews were able to contain the fire to the center of the warehouse. Firefighters remained on-scene throughout the night as hotspots were extinguished.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Kingsport Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office.
