Kingsport Firefighters Make Quick Stop on Fire in Strip Mall

frthnryfireAround 11:25am, Kingsport Firefighters (B-Shift) were alerted of a structure fire at the 1700 block of Fort Henry Drive.

Chief 3 arrived on-scene to report heavy smoke showing from a one story strip mall structure. Engine 3 arrived on-scene and set-up on the A-side of the structure. Due to heavy smoke showing from the rear, Engine 2 and Fire-Rescue 12 set-up on the C-side of the structure. Two hydrants were utilized for water supply.

Crews were able to stretch an attack line in the rear of the structure to locate the fire, and additional crews made access to the attached businesses. The fire was quickly contained to the business of origin, and the attached businesses received minor smoke damage.

frthnryfire1Two lanes of Fort Henry Drive were temporarily shut-down due to supply line being laid into the roadway.

Kingsport PD, Sullivan County EMS, and the Kingsport Life-Saving Crew also responded to the scene to assist.
