On Monday, April 11th, B-shift firefighters in Kingsport were notified of a possible structure fire on Peach Orchard Drive with occupants trapped.
Engine 4 arrived on-scene to report a single family dwelling with heavy fire and smoke showing. As crews went to work, they were advised that all the occupants had made it out of the structure. Two near-by structures were being threatened by the fire being in such a close proximity.
Live power lines on the ground limited movement of fire crews around the structure until the utilities were controlled.
As additional units arrived on-scene, they continued to knockdown the fire and established a water source from a near-by hydrant.
Fire crews operated on-scene for several hours to continue extinguish hot-spots.
Responding Units: Engine 4, Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 5, Fire-Rescue 12, Ladder 1, Chief 3, KFD Fire Marshal’s Office, Sullivan Co. EMS, Kingsport Life Saving Crew, Kingsport PD, American Red Cross.
